NETWORKS & PLATFORMS  | INFRASTRUCTURE INTELLIGENCE

See What Is Actually in Your Network

VIA is pureIntegration's computer-vision technology for faster infrastructure audits and network asset validation. It analyzes street-level and aerial imagery to identify and locate poles, attachments, addresses, power supplies, and other outside-plant assets.

Combined with GIS data and expert review, VIA helps uncover record discrepancies, improve network asset management, and reduce unnecessary field data collection.

THE CHALLENGE

Your Network Records May Not Match the Field

Infrastructure changes faster than records are updated. Poles are replaced, attachments move, equipment is removed, and outdated assets remain in GIS and operational systems.

That creates uncertainty around network planning, asset inventories, serviceability, market due diligence, energy spend, and government program compliance.

Traditional field audits can be accurate, but they are often slow, expensive, and difficult to scale.

WHAT VIA DOES

Faster Infrastructure Audits Built From Imagery

VIA Can Support

icon-pole-2

Pole and Attachment Inventories

Identify poles, visible attachments, missing assets, and potential record discrepancies.

icon-address

Address Validation and Serviceability

Confirm structures, validate reported locations, and support FCC and BEAD analysis.

icon-power

Power and Equipment Detection

Identify visible power supplies, cabinets, and related network equipment.

icon-gis

GIS Reconciliation

Deliver GIS-ready findings that can support Esri, Smallworld, IQGeo, VETRO, and other platforms.

HOW IT WORKS

From Imagery to Verified Asset Record

STAGE 01

Define the Area

Identify the geography, business question, and assets to evaluate.

STAGE 02

Assess Imagery

Review imagery age, coverage, and suitability before analysis begins.

STAGE 03

Analyze Assets

Use VIA to locate and classify visible infrastructure.

STAGE 04

Validate Findings

pureIntegration specialists review results and reconcile them against available records.

STAGE 05

Deliver Outputs

Provide GIS-ready data, findings, evidence, and field-validation recommendations.

Key Differentiator

Technology Does the Volume. Engineers Make the Determination.

VIA makes large-scale analysis faster and more affordable, but pureIntegration specialists validate the findings, account for imagery limitations, and determine where additional investigation is required.

CAPABILITIES

Faster Infrastructure Audits Built From Imagery

Capabilities are grouped by what is in production today. We would rather tell you where the boundary is than discover it together halfway through your engagement.

cap-pole

Pole Inventory

  • Pole detection, location, and classification

  • Missing and phantom poles flagged against your GIS

  • County and regional scale in weeks

  • GIS-ready output for ESRI, IQGeo, and VETRO

IMAGERY READINESS

What VIA can see depends on when the picture was taken

Imagery vintage varies enormously between markets, and it sets a hard ceiling on what any imagery-based method can deliver. We benchmark it before scoping, and we tell you when the answer is that imagery alone will not carry the program.

Imagery vintage Status What it means for the engagement
Under 2 years ● Audit-ready Full desktop audit supported across pole, attachment, and address workstreams.
2 to 3 years ● Usable Supported, with change since capture flagged and reconciled against your records.
3 to 5 years ● Conditional Viable for baseline inventory. Premium imagery recommended where recency drives the decision.
Over 5 years ● Field capture required Desktop analysis alone will not carry the program. We will say so before you fund it.

BENEFITS

Reduce Field Data Collection Without Sacrificing Confidence

Move Faster

Complete broad infrastructure assessments in weeks, not months.

Reduce Costs

Limit field work to the assets and locations that truly require it.

Improve Safety

Reduce unnecessary roadside and energized-equipment exposure.

Improve Records

Identify missing, duplicate, or outdated assets.

Support Better Decisions

Give planning, GIS, operations, and finance teams a more accurate infrastructure baseline.

WHERE VIA FITS

Built to Support Real Infrastructure Workflows

VIA can be used within pureIntegration engagements for:

  • Market and acquisition due diligence
  • Address validation and serviceability
  • Pole and attachment inventories
  • Network energy spend optimization
  • Government program support
  • GIS and asset reconciliation

FAQs

  • VIA originally referred to Virtual Infrastructure Audit. Today, it is the name of pureIntegration’s computer-vision capability used to support infrastructure audits and broader infrastructure-intelligence engagements.

  • Yes. VIA uses computer vision models trained on utility infrastructure to detect and locate poles, wires, attachments, and equipment from publicly available street-level and aerial imagery. Multiple observations of the same pole are resolved into a single asset with one location, then reconciled against existing GIS records to surface missing poles and phantom records.

  • Accuracy depends on the asset class and on imagery quality in the specific footprint, so we benchmark rather than quoting a universal figure. As a reference point, VIA's pole inventory in Cuba, Illinois came within roughly one percent of the operator's GIS while also identifying poles the GIS was missing and records for poles that no longer existed.

  • No. Clients engage pureIntegration to solve an infrastructure or data challenge. VIA is one of the technologies our team uses to deliver the work.

  • Not in every situation. VIA can significantly reduce and focus field work, but physical validation may still be needed for structural condition, measurements, hidden assets, or areas with insufficient imagery.

  • VIA is the vision engine that reads imagery and produces verified asset data. VIA Scout is the geospatial platform that combines that data with broadband maps, funding programs, permitting records, demographics, and utility data to accelerate the broader set of OSP workflows. VIA establishes what is there. Scout puts it in context.

WHY PUREINTEGRATION

A model is not a deliverable

Plenty of vendors can put a bounding box around a pole. Very few can hand a utility an asset record it will act on, defend in a rate case, or file with a funding agency. That distance is the entire job.

Built for this domain, not adapted to it

VIA's models are trained on utility infrastructure and tuned by engineers who have spent careers in outside plant, not repurposed from a general object detector.

Engineers have the last word

Automation handles the volume. Experienced cable, telco, and fiber design engineers validate the findings. You never receive raw model output.

We feed your GIS, we do not replace it

Outputs are structured for IQGeo, ESRI, and VETRO. Your GIS stays the system of record. VIA tells it what the record should actually say.

We publish our limits

Imagery recency, coverage gaps, and the classes of question imagery cannot answer are stated up front, not discovered at delivery.
