The event was held in the D.C. Metro area Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27.  It began Friday with business updates from the executive leadership, at the Passion Fish restaurant in Reston Town Center.

On Saturday, the pureIntegration team participated in a series of discussion topics before boarding a bus for a morning tour of the historical sites and museums in Washington, DC.

All of the weekend’s activities led up to the athletic and quite competitive teambuilding event—an exciting “Dragon Boat Race” on the scenic Potomac River.  Staff were divided into teams and assigned a coach from the DC Dragon Boat Club.  After a short practice session, the Green Team achieved victory on the water!

As part of our mission, pureIntegration believes in giving back to the community.  Proceeds from our Dragon Boat Race teambuilding event went towards the inspiring, Out of Sight Dragons—a blind and visually impaired boat club in DC.

Additionally, pureIntegration staff collected items for residents getting ready to transition from living at the Northern Virginia Training Center (NVTC) to homes in the community.  NVTC in Fairfax, VA is committed to improving the lives of people affected by intellectual disabilities.  Dozens of items were donated, such as pillow cases, sheet sets, toiletries, clothes, slippers, robes and towels.
